Letitia Huckaby is a photographer born in Augsburg, Germany to American parents. She earned a BFA from the Art Institute of Boston (now the College of Art & Design at Lesley University) in 2001 and an MFA in photography from the University of North Texas, Denton, in 2010. Huckaby’s practice combines photography and textiles to depict family narratives and African American history. She has exhibited at the Dallas Contemporary; Galveston Arts Center, TX; Renaissance Fine Art, Harlem, New York City; McKenna Museum of African American Art, New Orleans; and the African American Museum of Dallas, among other institutions. Her work is part of the permanent collections of the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont; Samella Lewis Contemporary Art Collection at Scripps College, Claremont, CA; and Brandywine Workshop and Archives, Philadelphia. She is married to artist Sedrick Huckaby.
