Wucius Wong is a celebrated ink painter and a proponent of the Hong Kong New Ink Movement. He was born in Guangdong Province, China. Wong co-founded the Modern Literature and Art Association. After organizing the First Hong Kong International Salon of Painting in 1960, he went on to study at the Columbus College of Art & Design, OH. He earned his BFA and MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore.

Wong is an adjunct professor in the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong; museum expert advisor to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Hong Kong; Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Ink Painting Institute, Hong Kong; committee member of the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong; committee member of the Chinese Ink Painting Institute, Beijing; and has held an artist residency at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
