Richard Hunt

Sculptor Richard Hunt earned his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is most known for his large-scale, abstract, metal sculptures on public display throughout the United States.

Hunt's work has been exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art, OH; Museum of African American Art, Los Angeles; Indianapolis Museum of Art, IN; Springfield Museum of Art, OH; and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia, among other institutions.

Hunt has been the recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, the Tamarind Institute Artists Fellowship, and a Lifetime Achievement Award (then the James Van Der Zee Award) from Brandywine Workshop and Archives. He lives and practices his art in Chicago.
