Martina Johnson-Allen

Painter, sculptor, and printmaker Martina Johnson-Allen was born in Philadelphia, PA. She earned her BA from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, and an MFA in art education and printmaking from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, with additional training at Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, Philadelphia.

Her work has been exhibited at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC.

Johnson-Allen retired as an art teacher with the School District of Philadelphia. She lives and practices her art in Laverock, PA, just outside of Philadelphia.
