Lesley Mitchell

Philadelphia-based painter, printmaker, book artist, and mixed-media artist Lesley Mitchell was born in New York City. She studied at Douglass Residential College, New Brunswick, NJ, Trenton State College (now the College of New Jersey), and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia.

Mitchell's work has been exhibited at institutions including the Philadelphia Argentine Tango School, University City Arts League, Center for Emerging Visual Artists, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Athenaeum of Philadelphia, University of the Arts, and the Kamin Gallery at the University of Pennsylvania, all in Philadelphia; Wayne Art Center, PA; Cheltenham Art Center, PA; Gilded Lion Art & Antiques, Princeton, NJ; Atlantic Cape Community College, Mays Landing, NJ; and Abecedarian Gallery, Denver, CO. Her work is in public and corporate collections including the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Free Library of Philadelphia, Duane Morris LLP, and Yampolsky Mandeloff Silver & Co. CPA, all in Philadelphia; and Michener Art Museum, Doylestown, PA.

Mitchell taught printmaking and works on paper classes at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and other institutions as well as private classes.
