Larry Spaid

Born in Indiana, Larry Spaid earned his BFA from the Herron School of Art and Design at Indiana University, Indianapolis, and an MFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is professor emeritus at Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, Philadelphia. He has exhibited his work at the Snyderman Gallery and Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia; University of Lincoln, England; Designworks, Galveston, TX; Gomez Gallery, Baltimore; Condeso/Lawler Gallery, New York City; Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University's campus in Rome; and other institutions.

Spaid's work is in the collections of the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; University of Tokyo Museum of Fine Arts, Japan; Indianapolis Museum of Art, IN; Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Lessing J. Rosenwald Collection, Brandywine Global Investment Management, Inc., PECO Energy Teleconference Center, and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, all in Philadelphia; Arkansas Art Center (now Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts), Little Rock; Time Warner, New York City; and Arthur Anderson, Inc., Chicago, IL.

Among the honors and awards received by Spaid are an artist residency at Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle, Ireland; Pennsylvania Council on the Arts fellowships; Visiting Artist Residency at Brandywine Workshop and Archives, Philadelphia; a fellowship at the Graduate School of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; and a Yale Summer School of Art and Music fellowship.
