Jim Lee

Asian American artist and printmaker Jim Lee was born in Wichita, KS. He attended Bethany College, WV, and received his MFA in printmaking and book arts at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is an associate professor at the Hartford Art School of the University of Hartford, CT.

His work has been included in many exhibitions of prints and books, including the International Exhibition of Artists’ Books and Portfolios, Leipzig, Germany; International Biennial Print Exhibit at the Taipei Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan; Galerie Im Höllental, Buchenbach, Germany; Center for Book Arts and American Institute of Graphic Arts, New York City; University of Massachusetts, Amherst; deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, Lincoln, MA; and Library and Archives Canada, Ottawa.

His books and prints are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Brooklyn Museum, New York City; National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC; Art Institute of Chicago; The Getty Center, Los Angeles; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Yale University, New Haven, CT; Harvard University, Cambridge, MA; University of California, Los Angeles; Temple University, Philadelphia; Stanford University, CA; Smith College, Northampton, MA; Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH; and in the rare book collections of the New York Public Library, Boston Public Library, and the Connecticut State Historical Society, Hartford.
