Jack Gerber

Painter and curator Jack Gerber was born in Philadelphia. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and The Art Students League, New York City. He served as president of the Philadelphia Water Color Society.

Gerber won numerous awards and exhibited his work at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Woodmere Art Museum, and American Color Print Society, Philadelphia; National Academy of Design, New York City; Corcoran Gallery (now Corcoran School of the Arts & Design), Washington, DC; Cheltenham Center for the Arts, PA; Allentown Art Museum, PA; Academy of the New Church, Bryn Athyn, PA; Noyes Museum of Art, Galloway, NJ; Gary Kravitz Collection; Henry Jaffe Collection; Michener Art Museum, Doylestown, PA; and Burlington College, VT.

In 2009, Jack Gerber was included in 150 Years and More at The Philadelphia Sketch Club, alongside works by Rockwell Kent, Paul Wescott, N. C. Wyeth, Thomas Eakins, Benton Spruance, and Daniel Garber, among others.
