Doris Nogueira-Rogers

Brazilian-born mixed-media artist Doris Nogueira-Rogers attended the School of Fine Arts at Federal University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she earned degrees in art and design and interior design. Her art incorporates diverse materials and ranges from works on paper to site-specific installations that relate to contemporary issues. Her professional experience includes national and international exhibitions.

Nogueira-Rogers has served as gallery director at Taller Puertorriquéno, Philadelphia, and has been a teaching artist at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and other Philadelphia-area institutions. She has exhibited her work at the Beach Museum, Alagoas, Brazil; Marlin Art Gallery at Camden County College, Blackwood, NJ; National Congress of Brazil and Gabinete 45/Escritorio de Arte, Brasilia; Studio d’arte Pedroza Raimundo Bruno, Bassano del Grappa, Italy; Taller Puertorriqueño and Painted Bride Art Center, Philadelphia; and Library and Archives Canada, Ottawa.

Nogueira-Rogers was the first recipient of Brandywine Workshop and Archive's Joyce DeGuatemala Visiting Artist Scholarship in 2015. Nogueira-Rogers spent six months working with Brandywine staff on offset lithography, screen-printing, other printing techniques, and collage.
